The services we provide include Weddings, Elopements, Renewal of Vows, Naming Ceremonies and Funeral & Memorial Ceremonies.
Our celebrants are authorised to conduct legal marriages in Scotland, and are trained to the highest standard allowing them to deliver the best ceremony possible. As well as telling your unique love story, our celebrants offer a choice of symbolic gestures from Scotland and beyond to ensure your ceremony is all inclusive and personal to you.
Meetings with your celebrant: Each celebrant will schedule several meetings with you, and these will allow your celebrant to ask the necessary questions to create your bespoke ceremony script. Your celebrant will also advise you on the legal paperwork which you MUST submit to the registry office prior to the wedding.
Attendance on your wedding day: Not only do our celebrants perform fun and engaging ceremonies, they will be on hand AT LEAST one hour prior to the wedding ceremony, ensuring that everyone is relaxed and knows their role. We also pride ourselves on getting to know you and your guests, so we will also be around during any drinks reception to mingle and chat with guests allowing you to relax and enjoy your post ceremony smooch!
If you require a non-legal wedding, the process is pretty much identical – if no legal paperwork is required, we will commemorate your day with the signing of a keepsake certificate.

Couples who choose an elopement are always free spirits, at one with the outdoors, and happy to embrace the Scottish wilderness in all of its beauty, as well as the Scottish weather…If you aren’t a fan of a little wind or rain, then an elopement might not be for you! We can’t always guarantee that an elopement will include sunshine, however, one thing that is always guaranteed with a Scottish elopement is the brilliantly breath-taking views.
The beauty of an elopement is the extremely intimate setting, and in some cases there may be no guests and only the couple themselves. The only requirement for a legal ceremony is that as well as your officiant, you will require two witnesses… and if you are really lucky, you may have some stags in attendance for your vows! In many cases, the suppliers in attendance will happily be witness to the legal vows with many a photographer and bagpiper putting pen to paper.
As with "Weddings", this price includes all meetings, script creation and attendance on your wedding day. Please note, prices may vary depending on your location and travel, so please enquire with your specifications for an exact quote.
Live Booking Enquiry →This is a very similar service to a wedding, and is the perfect way to revisit the promises you made to each other on your wedding day.
Your celebrant will create a bespoke script allowing you to relive your wedding day, and your beautiful love story which has lead you to this moment. A ceremony which will reflect the two personalities that have made you the perfect match throughout your married life.

Each naming ceremony will be designed to be fun, unique and meaningful to ensure your family have a truly memorable day. As part of this ceremony, we can involve those family and friends who have an important part to play, whilst also telling your unique story - bringing everyone together in celebration to recognise your chosen name.
Meeting with your celebrant will allow them to get to know, and also build a connection with the star of the show. As well as including symbolic gestures such as candle lighting, sand ceremony or tree planting, you will also receive a keepsake certificate of this celebration.

Our celebrants will work closely with you to offer the advice and support needed to create a unique and memorable ceremony. By choosing The Scottish Celebrants Organisation, your celebrant can tailor the tone of your ceremony, allowing you to share happy and fun memories of your loved ones.
Planning the ceremony involves spending time learning about the life, character and personality of your loved one, and which memories you would like to be shared.
This type of funeral will allow you to include any readings, poems and music that may have personal significance, creating a much more poignant ceremony and a wonderful celebration of life.
A 25% non-refundable deposit will be required to book your wedding ceremony. The remaining balance will be required to be paid in full at least 4 weeks before your wedding date.
Should you decide to postpone your wedding for any reason, wherever possible, we will endeavour to accommodate your new date. However, this cannot be guaranteed and will be dependent on availability of your celebrant.
Any cancelled weddings with 12 weeks or less to go will be charged at full original cost with no refund. If payment is not made in full by 4 weeks prior to your date, this may result in your booking being cancelled.
What happens if something happens to my celebrant?
In the very unlikely case that your celebrant has a serious emergency, we will always endeavour to source another one of our celebrant team who will deliver the script that has been created for you. We have a back up process in place and trained celebrants on standby.
Can we pay the full amount early?
An invoice for the remaining balance and any travel costs will be sent by email around 12 weeks prior to your wedding day, however, should you wish to pay the balance earlier, you can do so by contacting admin@thescottishcelebrants.org
We are authorised by the Registrar General to solemnise your marriage on the day of your wedding. HOWEVER, it is YOUR responsibility to submit your notice to marry to the local registry office where you are getting married.
These forms are called M10 forms and can be submitted between 12 weeks to 29 days prior to your wedding date, along with the supporting documentation that you will be required to submit. No legal wedding can take place without the submission of the correct paperwork.
Your celebrant is fully trained on this subject and will help advise you on any questions you have relating to this process.
