Celebrating All People

OUR PURPOSE

The Scottish Celebrants Organisation has one purpose - We passionately believe in making a positive change and our contributions will make REAL change to communities and charities in Scotland. The Scottish Celebrants Organisation bring together like minded people who share this same belief. Through our shared vision of equality, inclusivity and fairness, our celebrants and members will collectively give back to society in key areas which we have identified in Scotland which will directly benefit from our dedicated work.

At The Scottish Celebrants Organisation we passionately believe in celebrating ALL PEOPLE, and helping Scotland as a society. Whether you were born in Scotland or have come to Scotland, our inclusive belief is that all people should be welcomed and celebrated as one of our own , and through conducting our ceremonies we believe that our dedicated work can CHANGE THE LIVES of others.

We believe that all people should have the freedom of choice, the ability to express themselves, to be heard and to be understood. This is reflected through our ceremonies by promoting our philosophical beliefs and values, and our celebrants will focus on delivering the HIGHEST LEVEL OF SERVICE, ensuring customers have a bespoke ceremony tailored to them as individuals. Our Humanist celebrants believe that through our values of EQUALITY, INTEGRITY AND COMPASSION; and having a shared passion for Scotlands past, present and future, we can help give back to Scotland as a society. Our mission is to help preserve the past, protect the present and invest in the future of Scotland through our dedicated work. In targeting these key pillars, the Scottish Celebrants Organisation will WORK TOWARDS THE GREATER GOOD for all in Scotland.

Our Purpose

Preserve the Past

With our celebrants conducting ceremonies on historical locations, we will actively increase awareness on such areas of importance. Our ceremonies will have the choice of including Scottish rituals, whilst also being open to other inclusions of cultural significance, to ensure that our ceremonies are both culturally relevant and inclusive to all and donations will be made to National Trust for Scotland to help protect Scotland’s natural, cultural and historical places for many years to come.

Protect the Present

Socially conscious initiatives will be addressed by our celebrants who will actively participate in helping homelessness, food banks, and other community initiatives. We also assist those in need of immediate help. Donations will be made to metal health charity TINY CHANGES, and together we’ll make tiny changes to Earth.

One tree will be planted for every single ceremony conducted. Not only will this be a physical way of marking a milestone or life event, but will directly improve Scotland’s environment.

Invest in the Future

We will focus on the future of Scotland. Our primary focus will be children, and by partnering with children's charities Calums Cabin and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, we can truly make a difference to the future of Scotland. Over and above this we will tackle funeral poverty by waiving any celebrant funeral fee for those in financial distress and will never charge a fee when conducting a funeral for a child (under 18).

Our Values

OUR VALUES

Equality: To ensure that our actions should always be inclusive to others, and that decisions are based on fairness and respect, always treating other people as equals.

Integrity: We will deliver exceptional service to all, offering support and guidance, and in doing so, we will always do the right thing, striving to make a positive impact on our communities and country.

Compassion: We embody empathy and compassion towards others and this will be reflected in the words of our ceremonies, and in our actions towards others.

Scottishness: We celebrate our country, its rich heritage, its current opportunities and its future potential: ensuring that all people choosing to have their ceremony in Scotland are welcomed and embraced as one.

What We Do

Our celebrants are trained to deliver fun, engaging, and personality packed ceremonies that reflect your own individuality and style. The ‘traditional’ wedding day is a thing of the past, and in Scotland, we love to celebrate that any two consenting adults who are of sound mind, can be married in ANY place of their choosing. From the top of a mountain, a historic castle, a luxurious venue, or even in your very own home….we conduct legal wedding ceremonies all across Scotland.

How We Do It

Our celebrants are based all across Scotland; however, our amazing celebrants will go above and beyond, from the top of mountains to the other side of the world, the demand for our celebrants stretches all across the globe!

Each member of the team has been fully trained in all aspects of celebrant training, and we ensure that they are mentored and continually coached with each celebrant also being fully insured and having a disclosure in place.
